It’s shaping up to be a big week for the royal wedding rumour mill. The Sunday Times recently reported that Kate Middleton has chosen her dress designer and it will be none other than — wait for it — Sarah Burton, head designer for Alexander McQueen!

When Kate's no longer a Middleton, what will she sign her name as?

They take their bachelor parties very seriously here in England. To be accurate, that's not even what they call them. Here, it's a "stag do" for the boys and a "hen night" for the girls.

The royal wedding invitations are in the post, palace reps have confirmed. Nothing in my mailbox this morning but a pizza flyer and Visa bill, but I haven’t given up hope. Apparently there are around 1800 lucky guests on the list – among them most of the British aristocracy, European royals, various heads of state and possibly Elton John – but I’m still hoping there might be a pew in Westminster Abbey with my name on it.

I don’t want to give credence to the haters – this is a royal wedding blog, after all -- but in the interests of balanced journalism I think it’s important to admit the fact that not everyone out there is thrilled to bits at the idea of a Kate and Wills impending nuptials.
