4 pork loin chops
freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup char siu sauce
3/4 tsp minced chipotle in adobo sauce
1 orange, thickly sliced
4 green onions
Oil grill and preheat barbecue to high. Lightly rub chops with vegetable oil. Sprinkle both sides with pepper. In a small bowl, stir char siu sauce with chipotle.
Place meat on grill and reduce heat to medium. Cover and grill pork a couple of min per side, then brush both sides with sauce. Continue turning and brushing chops with sauce until they give slightly when pressed, 4 to 6 more min per side.
After chops have cooked a few minutes, add orange slices and whole green onions to grill. Turn occasionally until lightly charred, removing each as it is done.
Place chops on plates. Spoon any remaining sauce overtop. Add orange slices. Thickly slice green onions, if you like, and scatter overtop. Add rice and a salad and dinner's done.

Char siu (pronounced char-SYOO) sauce mixed with chipotle forms a thick, smoky, slightly spicy glaze for chops. It's a match made in heaven for lovers of Chinese barbecue.
Char siu sauce is sold in the Asian section of most supermarkets.
