Savour the last taste of barbecue season with this juicy burger. It’s crowned with a flavour-bursting bruschetta mix that’s scooped straight from the jar.
Mix in: * finely chopped pickled or fresh jalapeños * pinches of dried basil or oregano leaves * minced garlic * a sprinkling of hot red chili flakes Top with: * crumbled blue or goat cheese * grilled red onion slices * chopped fresh basil or coriander * roasted red pepper strips * snipped chives * avocado slices
No barbecue? No worries. Prepare burgers as above, then coat a large frying pan with oil. Set over medium heat. When hot, add burgers. Sauté, uncovered, 6 to 8 minutes per side. If they brown too quickly, reduce heat to medium-low.
