- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add 4 oz rye, 1 oz sweet red vermouth and 4 drops Angostura Bitters. Cover and shake vigorously until very cold. Strain into 2 highball glasses. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel or a few maraschino cherries.
Use fresh ice and rinse out the shaker before making the next batch.
