The depths of winter call for a clever hot drink, and this chai latte, inspired by one we tasted at Vancouver's Granville Island Public Market, is equally warming. Don't be put off by the butter: It's the secret ingredient that makes this drink unforgettable.
2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
1 tbsp chai spice (link to recipe below)
2 cups boiling water
4 bags black tea
1 cup warm milk
MASH butter with brown sugar, ginger and chai spice.
POUR boiling water over tea bags. Steep 4 min. Discard tea bags.
BLEND butter mixture with tea and milk in a blender until frothy. Pour through a sieve into 3 mugs.
