13 Store Openings in Canada to Look Out for This Summer

If you're in need of a serious retail refresh (same), you're in luck. So many chic stores are opening up shop this summer and we got the not-so-secret intel just for you. From a brand spankin' new Nordstrom Rack to a brick-and-mortar Mejuri and a newly renovated Birks flagship, these are the best store openings across Canada this summer. Plus, we included our fave items from each store (think: all-natural cleansers, drool-worthy denim, on-trend chain rings and more) so you can check off every item from your must-have list in one go. Nordstrom Rack

Find it: 731 Yonge St., One Bloor, Toronto, and be on the look out for three new locations coming this fall to Ottawa Train Yards, South Edmonton Common and Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga, nordstromrack.com
The vibe: Everyone in the Toronto fashion scene and beyond has been buzzing about this store opening. The 38, 545 sq. ft., two-storey Yorkville location is retail heaven for those who still want to dress like an It Girl but don't want their bank account to suffer the consequences (so, all of us?). Opening: May 3, 2018 What you'll find: Chic finds at insanely low prices from both high-end and lower priced retailers like Prada, MadewellMichael Kors, and more of the same brands you would find at a regular Nordstrom department store—but at up to 70% off.

Fossil

Find it: 220 Yonge St., CF Eaton Centre, Toronto, fossil.com
The vibe: This new space is the only one of its kind in the world. The American retailer known for impeccably crafted watches and handbags has debuted a specialized “Makers” concept store where customers can design their own customized watches (think: engravings, repairs and more). The shop is designed to put the shopper first, with communal tables, swatches and sample designs to get you inspired. Opening: June 2018 What you'll find: Timeless watches, smartwatcheshandbags and wallets adorned with sleek leather and chain details in goes-with-everything hues. These classics are meant to be worn—and loved—every single day, so why not create your own dream design at this one-of-a-kind location.

Arc'teryx

Find it: 815 17 Ave SW #150, Calgary, arcteryx.com
The vibe: This high-end outdoor clothing company, known for beautiful and technologically advanced design, opened its first Calgary location earlier in June. The spacious retail space has a modern concrete and wood interior accented with black walls and ceilings. If you're a serious adventure junkie or outdoor enthusiast, you'll be hooked on this Canadian brand. Opening: June 9, 2018 What you'll find: Everything from specialized jackets meant for day-to-day, skiing and snowboarding or climbing, in a range of bright hues (like turquoise, cobalt and sapphire) to sturdy daypacks to take on your next hike, so you'll be equipped with everything you would ever need for your next outdoor venture.

Birks

Find it: 620 Saint-Catherine St. W, Montreal, maisonbirks.com The vibe: As *the* destination for all things engagement rings, luxury watches and fine jewellery, this opulent, high-end store has re-opened following extensive renovations. From the engraved European-style ceilings to the marble floors and velvet carpets, this chic spot will truly make you feel like royalty. Opening: June 11, 2018 What you'll find: Gorgeous pieces from top jewellers in the world, like French brands Chaumet, Messika and Van Cleef & Arpels, plus new additions including RolexCartierBreitling and more. And, of course, the house brand, which is a fave of Meghan Markle. You'll have a hard time choosing just one piece.

Anavi Designs

Find it: 1294 St. Clair Ave. W, Toronto, anavidesigns.com The vibe: Take note, handbag lovers—if this Toronto-born label isn't on your radar yet, it's about to be. The airy boutique is filled with drool-worthy displays of owner Ivana Walker's incredible work, which you may have spotted on the Juno Awards red carpet two years in a row. Opening: June 12, 2018 What you'll find: Statement clutches, totes and shoulder bags—adorned with fur, floral accents and shiny metallic clasps—that will have strangers asking, "where did you get that bag?" They also have the everyday Cruiser Bag in three sizes for when you need to lug your laptop, iPad or just the essentials to your 9–5.

Levi's

Find it: 220 Yonge St., CF Eaton Centre, Toronto, levi.com The vibe: The holy-grail denim brand debuted its Canadian flagship in June and we. are. stoked. This location is the only one in the country to carry Levi's Authorized Vintage Collection with lived-in versions of classic fits like 501, 505 and 517. Want to personalize your new duds? The Levi's Tailor Shop not only repairs and tailors your jeans but also customizes them with cool-girl patches, stitching, studs and more. Opening: June 14, 2018 What you'll find: Every pair of classic denim styles you could ever need (plus, their inclusive size range is XS to 3X). From classic skinnies to on-trend mom jeans and super comf denim jackets, there's a reason why so many fashion enthusiasts flock to this brand for all of their denim essentials.

Herschel Supply Co.

Find it: 347-349 Water St., Vancouver, herschel.ca The vibe: Located in the trendy Gastown neighbourhood, this flagship store is the first stand-alone Canadian location for the Vancouver-based brand. The space is adorned with light wooden accents, from the panels on the ceiling to the walls, but their buzzy backpacks—in every colour imaginable—take centre stage. Travelling has never looked so good. Opening: June 16, 2018 What you'll find: From their iconic backpacks to roomy duffel bags—which are perfect for the gym—and chic luggage, your next jet-setting adventure (or weekday commute) isn't complete without these carryall essentials. The shop will also be stocked with their outerwear line for when the rainy season hits.

Old Navy

Find it: 1800 Sheppard Ave. E, CF Fairview Mall, Toronto, oldnavy.ca The vibe: With over 10,200 sq ft, this popular all-American clothing store has arrived at Fairview Mall with an ample amount of retail space that is super easy to navigate. From women's to children's and maternity sections, everything is easily labelled with can't-miss signs so you'll be able to find all of your essentials in one shop. Opening: June 2018 What you'll find: Super wearable and v. affordable everyday pieces, like figure-flattering jeans, breezy dresses (starting at $8!) and on-trend swimwear. If your summer wardrobe is in desperate need of a revamp, this spot is for you.

Laline

Find it: 25 The West Mall, CF Sherway Gardens, Toronto, plus six other locations opening up across Ontario by the end of the year, laline.com The vibe: The Israeli-based beauty company has made it's Canadian debut in none other than the 6. Their products are super exfoliating (see ya, dry skin) and the interior of the new beauty boutique is a pastel paradise with rows of pale pink, lavender and sunflower-coloured goodies around the space—so dreamy right? Opening: June 26, 2018 What you'll find: Luxurious bath, body and skincare, like their best-selling line of exfoliators, mud masks and body scrubs inspired by the Dead Sea and other amazing products in sweet smelling scents like Vanilla Pink Pepper, Frozen Pear, Violet Amber and more.

Consonant Skincare

Find it: 819 Queen St. W, Toronto, consonantskincare.com The vibe: This brand spankin' new flagship store is located in the the hip Queen Street West neighbourhood. All of your skincare dreams will be realized once you step inside the brightly lit interior stocked with face creams, serums, masks and more. Plus, the pops of ocean-blue around the shop add a fresh touch to the otherwise minimalist space. Opening: June 30, 2018 What you'll find: Natural skincare products that will have your skin looking dewy and fresh for summer and beyond, like the best-selling Natural Foaming Wash (it cleanses, removes makeup and tones all at once) and the HydrExtreme serum, which is a cult fave because it leaves your skin seriously quenched.

Rocky Mountain Soap Company

The vibe: This Alberta-based beauty company is breaking into the Toronto retail scene (praise be!) with three pop-up shops. Each location boasts a clean vibe with an all-white interior, wooden accents and displays of colourful eco-friendly products. Don't worry about missing out on all of the action—the pop-ups will be here to stay for around six to 18 months. Opening: July 2018 What you'll find: All-natural, toxic-free skin, hair and body care, plus a range of wellness products will 10 ingredients or less. We're currently obsessing over their Cool Off Wellness Spray with peppermint, tea tree and lavender (because it's humid out, duh) and their best-seller, the anti-aging Pomegranate Day Cream.

Mejuri

Find it: 906 Dundas St. W, Toronto, mejuri.com The vibe: The brainchild of Toronto-born Noura Sakkijha, this trendy online direct-to-consumer jewellery startup is opening its first location in the 6. If the modern, minimalist pieces are any indication of what the store is going to look like, we can pretty much guarantee it'll be an Instagram lover's paradise. Opening: July 14, 2018 What you'll find: Dainty fine jewellery that is the epitome of everyday luxury (think: 14k gold and precious gems). Whether you're rocking their new chain ring or delicate turquoise gemstone necklace (which is perfect for layering), these minimalist pieces are just begging to be paired with your summer staples.

Miniso

Find it: Across Canadaminiso.ca The vibe: Founded in Tokyo, this popular lifestyle retailer already has dozens of locations across Canada (from Vancouver to Toronto to Montreal) and will continue the exciting expansion with over 100 locations by the end of the year. Each brick-and-mortar store is adorned with their eye-catching red logo and rows of clean-cut shelves that will satisfy your inner neat freak. Opening: All year What you'll find: Everything from covetable Asian beauty prods to kitchen accessories and the cutest stationary that everyone needs for back-to-school (just sayin'), so this spot is basically your one-stop-shop for all of your essentials.
