Stars share 'The Heart Truth' about women's heart health

Last night marked the fourth annual 'Heart Truth' Fashion Show at the Carlu in Toronto. Designed to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the show featured one-of-a-kind dresses by Canada's top fashion designers and modelled by Canada's hottest female celebrities. Joining the ladies this year were their male counterparts, who sported clothing from V Hazleton.

Deborah Cox in Kaelen

Juno award-winning R&B singer Deborah Cox wears Kaelen, by Toronto-based designer, Kaelen Farncombe. Cox's single “Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here” was a huge hit in 1998, peaking at No. 1 on the USA top R&B 100 charts where it remained for 14 weeks before going platinum.

Megan Follows in David Dixon

Actress Megan Follows wears David Dixon, one of Canada’s leading women’s fashion designers. Follows is best known for her portrayal of “Anne Shirley” in the Anne of Green Gables trilogy.

Chan Hon Goh in Ross Mayer

Principal dancer Chan Hon Goh wears Ross Mayer. Goh is the principal ballerina at the National Ballet of Canada and Goh Ballet Company, and was the first Canadian to receive the Silver Medal at the Genée International Ballet Competition in London, England. Goh has also received New Pioneers Arts Award for her contributions to dance in Canada, the 2010 Mandarin Profile Female Entrepreneur Award, and the 2010 FMA Vancouver Art Achievement Award.

Emmanuelle Vaugier in Greta Constantine

Actress Emmanuelle Vaugier wears Greta Constantine by Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong. Vaugier is best known for her role playing Mia on the award-winning comedy Two and a Half Men. She played Detective Jennifer Angell on CSI NY for three seasons, and will play the role of journalist/blogger Liza Hearn, on the USA Network crime series, Covert Affairs.

Debra McGrath in Karamea

Actress Debra McGrath wears Karamea by Michelle Turpin. McGrath was nominated for an Actra Award and won a Canadian Comedy award for her role in the improvised movie Expecting. She also co-created, wrote and starred in the series Getting Along Famously with her husband Colin Mochrie for CBC. Currently, her roles include a spoiled, self-centered Mom on the set of Single White Spenny and Mayor Anne Popowitz in the fifth season of Little Mosque on the Prairie.

Colin Mochrie in V Hazleton

Actor Colin Mochrie wears V Hazleton. Mochrie is a successful comic actor who was a regular on the British and U.S. versions of Whose Line Is It, Anyway?. He received a lifetime achievement award at the 2010 Actra Awards, and is currently shooting a new series for Canada's VisionTV called She's The Mayor. 

Sangita Patel in Ines Di Santo

CityNews and Citytv weather specialist Sangita Patel wears Ines Di Santo. Patel  is also the reporter for CityNews segment In the City and a weather specialist for 680 News.

Mylène Dinh-Robic in Simon Chang

Actress Mylène Dinh-Robic wears Simon Chang. Dinh-Robic's credits include Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, The 4400, The Border and Toute la Vérité. She now portrays Dr. Olivia Fawcett on CTV’s The Listener.

Gabrielle Miller in Eugenia

Gabrielle Miller wears Eugenia by Eugenia Leavitt. The Gemini award-winning actress is recognized for her lead roles on CTV's Corner Gas, the highest rated comedy program in Canadian television history, and the critically acclaimed dramedy Robson Arms.

Tre Armstrong in Joeffer Caoc

Choreographer, actress, and dancer Tré Armstrong wears Joeffer Caoc. Armstrong is a judge on CTV's So You Think You Can Dance Canada and the choreographer behind MTV's film Turn the Beat Around, Breakin' In: The Making of a Hip Hop Dancer, and the Sundance Film Festival favourite, A Raisin in the Sun. She will appear in the up-coming feature film Sons 2 The Grave being shot in Toronto.

Arlene Dickinson in Izzy Camilleri

Venture Communications CEO Arlene Dickinson wears Izzy Camilleri. Dickinson is one of Canada’s most renowned independent marketing communications entrepreneur, and is one of Chatelaine's Top 100 Women Business Owners. Dickinson is also a panelist on the Gemini award-winning CBC hit series, Dragons’ Den.

Bal Arneson in Jessica Biffi

Television host and author, Bal Arneson wears Jessica Biffi. Arneson's book, "Everyday Indian," is a national bestseller. Her television show, The Spice Goddess airs on The Cooking Channel in the US and the Food Network in Canada.

Jim McKenny in V Hazleton

Former NHL defensemen Jim McKenny wears V Hazleton. McKenny played ten years with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and enjoyed a 25 year broadcasting career following his retirement from hockey.

Dr. Christiane Laberge in Vanessa Paguandas

Dr. Christiane Laberge wears Vanesa Paguandas. Dr. Laberge is a family doctor, and Family Medicine Specialist and Communicator for Salut Bonjour, TVA et Puisqu'il faut se lever, 98.5 FM. 

Isabelle Brasseur in Marie Saint Pierre

Two-time Olympic figure-skating bronze medalist, Isabelle Brasseur wears Marie Saint Pierre. The five-time Canadian Pairs Champion claimed the Gold Medal at the World Pairs Championship in 1993 with her partner Lloyd Eisler, and the two are regarded as one of the most successful pair teams in Canada's history. Brasseur was also a finalist in CBC's Battle of the Blades in 2009.

Dina Pugliese in LOVAS

Breakfast Television co-host Dina Pugilese wears LOVAS by Wesley Badanjak. The TV personality was named one of the "Top 10 Hottest Women on Television" and one of the "50 Most Beautiful Canadians" by HELLO! magazine. International "shoe-ru" Ron White also designed a boot inspired by Pugliese that Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson added to her royal shoe collection.

Enuka Okuma in Starkers! Corsetry

Three-time Gemini Award nominee Enuka Okuma wears Starkers! Corsetry by Dianna DiNoble. Okuma is best known for her portrayal of tough rookie cop Traci Nash on Rookie Blue, the smash hit summer series from Global and ABC. She can be seen alongside Tom Hands and Julia Roberts in Larry Crowne, a feature film written and directed by Tom Hanks. 

Rick Campanelli in V Hazleton

ET Canada co-host Rick Campanelli wears V Hazleton. Campanelli joined the Entertainment Tonight brand after nearly 10 years at MuchMusic in 2005.

Buffy Sainte-Marie in Paul Hardy

Academy Award winning singer/songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie wears Paul Hardy. Sainte-Marie's concern for protecting indigenous intellectual property and her distaste for the exploitation of Native American artists and performers have kept her in the forefront of activism in the arts for forty years. Presently she operates the Nihewan Foundation for Native American Education through which the Cradleboard Teaching Project serves children and teachers throughout North America.

Elisha Cuthbert in VAWK

Gemini award-winning actress Eilsha Cuthbert wears VAWK by Sunny Fong. Cuthbert made the leap to television at age 15 where she hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids. Since then, she has appeared in numerous films, including Old School, Love Actually, House of Wax and a headline feature role in The Girl Next Door. She has landed regular mentions in FHM and Maxim Magazine’s “Hottest Women” lists. Cuthbert will star in the upcoming ABC series Happy Endings which airs on April 13, 2011. 

Andrea Martin in Farley Chatto

Actress/comedian Andrea Martin wears Farley Chatto.Martin has received numerous awards, including two Emmys for the TV sketch comedy series SCTV, a Tony Award for the Broadway musical My Favourite Year, and a Drama Desk Award for the one-person show, Nude, Nude, Totally Nude. Martin also received a SAG award nomination for her portrayal of Aunt Voula in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
