Follow these quick tips to help your suit last longer and look better: Rinse it with cool water after every swim--you'll find showers at most pools and beaches. Be careful when applying sunscreen lotions as they can stain the fabric. Rough surfaces like concrete can snag or pill your suit. Try sitting on a towel. Avoid rolling a wet swimsuit in clothing or a towel as the dyes can run. Instead, place it in a large plastic freezer bag. When finished for the day, wash your suit with a mild detergent in cool water and hang to dry in the shade. Never put your suit in the dryer--the intense heat will destroy its elasticity and shape. If you're a regular pool-swimmer, look for an endurance suit made of higher chlorine resistant fabrics. --Elizabeth Cabral |
