Whether you want a sun-kissed face or an all-over bronzed look, becoming a bronzed goddess couldn’t be easier. Say bye-bye to tanning beds and sunbathing and get glowing with these expert tips.

Face bronzer
I encourage my clients to embrace their natural skin but when you want to play up a summer glow, there are plenty of options to help you achieve that look. When it comes to a bronzed face, opt for a powder which works well on most skin types.
My pick: Blend Blush Duo #3 Terra Cotta by Giorgio Armani, $60

Do: After your base (primer, concealer, foundation, blush), apply the bronzer around the perimeter of the face, slightly under the cheekbone and at the tip of the chin and end of the nose. Remember: You want to emulate where the sun naturally hits the face.

Don’t: Take a big fluffy brush and apply bronzer to the entire face.

Tinted moisturizer
For the appearance of an all-over, natural tan use a tinted moisturizer. It can add that hint of colour that really perks up the skin. It works on all skin types, to hydrate, tint and protect your skin from the sun - be sure to pick one with SPF.
My pick: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, $33

Do:
Apply tinted moisturizer after you've cleaned and toned your face. Carry a portable tinted moisturizer with you to reapply throughout the day, as needed.

Don’t: Choose a shade that's slightly darker than your skin tone. If you want to have a bit more pigment or a slightly deeper tone, add a few drops of foundation to your moisturizer.

Body self-tanner
Self-tanning products usually promise zero streaking or zero transferring, but the right one can be hard to find and apply on yourself. Look for one like Lancome's flash bronzer that's easy to blend and that will leave you looking bronzed and not orange.
My pick: Flash Bronzer, Lancome, $38

Do:
Before you apply, be sure your skin is clean and exfoliated. This will help minimize and blotchy patches.

Don’t:
Put your clothes on immediately after applying the product to your skin. It needs a few minutes to set and dry, ensuring it will last until your next shower and won't transfer on to clothing or bed sheets.
