Since British designer Alexander McQueen tragically passed away in February, the fashion world has mourned the loss of a great talent. Now, the beauty world is paying tribute to McQueen too. Natural nail care company Butter London is releasing five new shades as part of its Fall 2010 Collection and two of those shades are named after the late designer. All Hail McQueen (pictured below, left) is a taupe colour with holographic gold flecks (a homage to McQueen’s F/W 2006 show which featured a hologram of Kate Moss floating in the air), and Bumster is a gorgeous mustard yellow (pictured below, right) inspired by McQueen’s infamous low-rise pants from F/W 1996. Check out these great colours as well as the other three shades from Butter London’s Fall Collection (Marrow, Victoriana, and Old Blighty). The collection retails for $16 and is available at www.beautymark.ca. On another McQueen-related note, a private memorial service will be held in honour of the designer on September 20th during London Fashion Week. The service, to be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral, will celebrate McQueen’s life and work.
