Waterproof makeup essentials
You don’t have to ditch all your favourite beauty looks just because the temperature’s rising. But there are a few things to keep in mind, says Toronto-based makeup artist David Goveia, in order to avoid a sweaty, messy, streaky face.
“Steer clear of powders in the summertime, because they won’t sit well on perspiring skin,” says Goveia. That means go for anything cream-based that will blend better and stay put longer – from eye shadows to blushes and bronzers. “You also might want to think more about glosses because they are light and fresh and way more low maintenance. Plus lipsticks have a tendency to get smudgy in the heat.” You can still love your liners and mascara, just switch to waterproof during the most sweltering months.
