Cake toast with honeyed strawberries
Great for dessert or even for brunch, this rich pound-cake gets warm and crisp like French toast. A scoop of ice cream, yogurt or whipped cream is the perfect finishing touch.
Polenta strawberry shortcake
Crunchy cornmeal, a hint of orange zest and a splash of liqueur combine to make this moist strawberry dessert the ultimate down-home treat.
Strawberry-vanilla yogurt pops
Sweetened strawberries are the perfect addition to any dessert; this one is completed in the freezer-no baking required. Now that’s pretty cool.
Free-form strawberry pie
This summery ruby-red pie comes together in a flash: Spoon berry mixture onto store-bought puff pastry, fold over and you’re done.
Grilled chicken and strawberry salad
This easy, no-fuss dish starts with grilled chicken right off the barbecue. Fresh strawberries and Granny Smith apples add the sweet-tart complement to this light, summer fare.
You can post it one of three ways (make sure you're not on a private setting):
Follow us on Instagram, then post your photo using @ChatelaineKitchen
Follow us on Twitter, then tweet us your photo with the hashtag #ChatelaineKitchen
Like us on Facebook, then message us your photo
Get your photos posted by next Thursday at noon to be considered for the club’s gallery the following day, which will be featured with the next week’s recipe.
Quick photo tips: Don’t use a flash, natural light is best. Just place your plate near a window and shoot away. Don’t bother using props – they’ll detract from the featured food. Overhead is always nice, close-ups work well, and get in close so we can see what’s cookin’! The larger the photo, the better. And remember to hashtag your photo or we won't be able to find it.
