Spicy Thai steak

Ingredients

steak
, such as rib-eye or strip loin, 1 1/2 in thick

fish sauce

, minced, or 1 tsp bottled chopped garlic

granulated sugar

oyster sauce

Instructions
- Bring steak to room temperature. Oil grill and heat barbecue to medium-high. Squeeze about 1 tbsp (15 mL) of lime juice into a small bowl. Stir in fish sauce, jalapeno, garlic and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Add onion.
- In another small bowl, stir oyster sauce with oil and pepper. Brush all over steak. Barbecue, uncovered, from 5 to 7 min per side for medium-rare. Brush often with any remaining oyster-sauce mixture.
- Remove steak to a cutting board and let stand 5 min. Then slice and drizzle with jalapeno sauce. Great with noodles or salad.
