150 tp 210 g
thickly sliced Parma ham or prosciutto, about 8 to 10 slices
210 g
dried figs
130-g log
creamy goat cheese
shredded fresh basil

  • Slice or cut each Parma ham slice into 2 to 3 pieces. Cut figs in half. Spread goat cheese on cut-side of each fig. Place cheese-side down in the centre of a piece of ham. Snugly wrap Parma ham around the fig.
  • Arrange on a platter and sprinkle with basil. If making ahead, cover with plastic wrap and leave at room temperature up to 1 hour. Sprinkle with basil just before serving.

This is an upscale version of ham and cheese, using flavourful prosciutto (Parma ham is the top dog of the prosciutto world) wrapped around a nugget of creamy goat cheese and a sliver of sweet fig. Recipe from Nigella Lawson’s Feast: Food that Celebrates Life (Alfred A. Knopf Canada).
