500 g ground beef
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup salsa
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar, or packaged grated cheese, such as mozzarella-cheddar mix
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Grease grill and preheat barbecue to medium-high. In a medium-size bowl, mix beef with egg, salsa, cheese, salt and pepper just until combined. Shape into 4 burgers. Place burgers on grill and barbecue until thoroughly cooked through and no pink remains in centre, at least 5 to 6 minutes per side.
