Grilled cheese with tomato jam

When markets brim with the red, yellow and pink hues of cherry, beefsteak and heirloom tomatoes, here’s how to welcome them back into your kitchen.


  • 2 tbsp tomato jam , (see recipe link below)
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1/3 cup grated cheddar
  • 1 tbsp butter


  • SPREAD tomato jam on 1 slice of bread. Layer with cheddar. Sandwich with another slice of bread and spread butter on the outside of each side. Cook in a heavy frying pan over medium-low, flipping once, until sandwich is golden brown and cheese melts, 3 to 5 min.
