- CUT grapefruits in half, crosswise. Cut a very thin slice off the bottom of each half so it sits flat. Arrange on a baking sheet.
- SPRINKLE 2 tsp sugar evenly over each half.
- CARAMELIZE the sugar with a kitchen blowtorch by keeping the flame close to the sugar, using a sweeping motion. Melt sugar, then let stand until sugar cools slightly.
