When I was in elementary school, my parents and I would frequently travel to Thailand to visit extended family during my March break. The gloriously hot weather was a reprieve from winter and I looked forward to it every year. In university, the jet-setting lifestyle I was used to as a kid changed. Instead, I found myself watching my friends pack and travel to Mexico, Punta Cana and other all-inclusive tropical destinations.

For me, March break is still synonymous with the tropics. It’s not just about childhood memories, but it also has a lot to do with my wishful thinking for summer to get here!
