In honour of its 75th anniversary, IKEA is releasing the Gratulera collection, which is a reissue of their most iconic products throughout the years.

This fall, a visit to Ikea is going to feel like a trip down memory lane. To help celebrate its 75th birthday, the Swedish retailer is rolling out some of its golden oldies with a (not so) new, vintage collection. Over the next few months, products that were popular in the '50s-'60s, '70s-'80s and the '90s-'00s, are slowly being re-released, with separate launches for each decade. The '50s-'60s line is already available and the next two decades will be launched in October and December.

IKEA Vintage Collection

Rattan armchair

This chic rattan chair from the collection’s ’50-’60s line was launched in 1958 for the grand opening of the first IKEA store in Älmhult, Sweden. (Up until then, IKEA had been a mail order business.)

White floor lamp

When this floor lamp was initially launched in 1958, its distinctive shades came in different colours. This update keeps things minimal—the shades just come in classic white. Plus, this model uses energy-efficient LED bulbs.

Black metal cage chair and ceiling lamps

Designer Niels Gammelgaard wanted to try an experiment — could you make a comfortable chair without any fabric or filling? The resulting design—his coated steel armchair — first launched in 1983. The vibrant pendant ceiling lamps also add a fun burst of colour.

Sofa

This vibrant colbat blue two-seat sofa, which also comes in red and yellow, was one of the first affordable sofas IKEA sold.

Rug

White table and decorative horse

The collection’s ’90s-’00s line includes a white storage bench with legs on one end and a wheel on the other. This piece was part of IKEA’s first PS collection, a modern reinterpretation of Scandinavian design that launched in 1995. Also part of the iconic ’90s re-issue is a small porcelain horse sculpture that comes in black or white.

Red chair

This bright red chair from the collection’s ’90s-’00s line will be available December 2018.

These vibrant solid wood chairs first launched in 1961 and are still manufactured by the same factory in Poland. With this re-issue, they’re now available in red, as well as the classic dark brown. Also part of the line is this playful round pendant lamp shade.
