Sometimes the simplest idea can have the most spectacular result. That's how I feel about this stunning DIY idea shared in Ikea's Livet Hemma blog.

They've taken a simple dresser and turned it into an eye-catching focal point — and what an easy project to do! You just have to paint the drawer fronts in softly descending shades of the same colour for a cool ombre effect.

Here's how to do it:

1. Select your favourite colour at the paint store and let the paint swatch be your guide.

2. Get small amounts of each shade and a neutral colour, such as white, for the frame of the dresser.

3. Apply at least two coats of paint to ensure good coverage.

And you're done!

To polish off the look, add your choice of hardware. You'll have a quick and easy show-stopper, instantly.
