Luxe lamp

I'm in the market for a new lamp for my living room and found this breathtaking piece from Elte. Gold and metallics are certainly all the rage this season, and while this gorgeous lamp does hit that trend on the head, it also has a timeless quality. The feminine lines, the sheer simplicity and the softness of the tones make it truly one of the most stunning lamps I’ve seen in a while. Now to convince my husband . . .

$775, Elte.

Sheer comfort

I love having a beautiful throw on hand. Whether it’s draped over an occasional chair or peeking out of a basket, nothing compares to the comfort of a soft throw. And it's an easy way to refresh your decor from season to season. A bright and cheerful fishnet cotton-cashmere throw will add the perfect pop of colour to your home.

Watermelon throw, from $115, Garnet Hill.

Spring forward

The HomeSense spring-summer collection kicks it outta the park. Our assistant editor Kate Gertner had the privilege of attending the spectacular preview this week, and I found myself cheering on the brand from the sidelines. Even though I’m a religious HomeSense shopper (every season without fail), this coming spring proved to be most impressive of them all. From outdoor carpets and chic bistro seating to their first-ever wallpaper collection, the merchandise that is coming to a HomeSense near you is extraordinary.

Available in spring, HomeSense.

Easy organizing

I don’t know about you, but I seem to be on the constant lookout for trays. They make the perfect organizer and accessory, especially when you can find one as lovely as this one made with melamine. It’s a classic piece with soft tones, a circular shape and a bright bamboo centre. Whether you need one to ground some of your favourite objects, create a stylish grouping for display or use it for serving appetizers to your guests at your next party, this is pretty and practical for everyday use.

Round tray, $14, Real Canadian Superstore.

This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic Finnish designer Marimekko Unikko (poppy) print. I have my own collection of napkins and oven mitts, but this apron is definitely on my wish list. Although the official celebration of the anniversary doesn’t kick off until May, it doesn’t mean we can’t head over to EQ3 and jump on the celebration wagon. Shop all of Marimekko’s glorious patterns and be sure to mark the big bash in your calendars!
