You may think we’re lying, but exercise can be fun. Remember when you were a kid and you begged to go outside and play? Believe it or not, that was a workout.
This month, forget about bootcamp and have some fun. Revisit your youth — and get a gut-busting burn — with these five fantastic activities.
1. Skipping rope
Although skipping is an old playground favourite, it’s definitely not just for kids. As a common form of training for boxers, skipping is a fun way to trim your hips and thighs while kick starting your cardio and coordination.
2 Pogo sticks
Pogo sticks may seem like a silly way to exercise, but that’s just it — it is! But it’s also a great cardiovascular workout. Pogo-ing is much less strenuous on your joints than running.
3. Hula hoops
Remember hula hoops from gymnastics lessons? Well, turns out they’re a fantastic way to sweat and tone your tummy (30 minutes of hula hooping is equivalent to 500 crunches).
This group activity will take you back to high school gym class (but without the horrible uniforms). All you need to do is get a bunch of friends together for a good old-fashioned game of dodgeball.
5. Dance class
Forget the hip-hop yoga and the Zumba fitness classes; take a regular drop-in dance class with your girlfriends just for fun! Bring lots of water, energy, and make sure to let loose (the way your inner child wants you to).
