Spring's hot list

Spring showers make fashion flower. Here's 5 tips to look fresh this season.

Spring's hot list

If you're anything like me, you start counting the days to spring in mid-February. I can't wait to ditch my heavy winter coat and boots and slip into an airy dress and sandals. As warmer weather approaches, I start planning ways to update my spring wardrobe. Here are my favourite easy-to-wear trends that will give your closet an instant makeover.
Colour alert
After a long winter of basic black and grey, spring's rainbow brights are a welcome relief. Popping up everywhere in trench coats and shoes are leafy greens, citrus oranges, and a multitude of other bright hues. I'll be wearing colour head-to-toe in an eye-catching dress or mixing it into my basics, like pairing pink with white jeans.
Lingerie inspiration
This season, designers took their cues from the lingerie department and showed a variety of corseted silhouettes and delicate lace and silk details in wear-everyday pieces. A silky camisole makes the ideal top under a conservative pant suit while a lace-trimmed slip-styled skirt softens a crisp topper and a t-shirt.
Pretty in prints
From nautical stripes to feminine florals, this season's prints are the easiest way to jazz-up your wardrobe. If you're daring, mix small and large prints or add one special patterned piece to update your basics.
50's fling
Channel Audrey Hepburn and Ava Gardner's style with bow belts and full skirts, to add feminine elegance to the season. Pair them with a cropped cardigan or jacket and ballet flats for a retro look.
White hot
Nothing's more refreshing than white, and we love it worn head-to-toe. It may not be the most practical look, but a white lightweight sweater paired with a white pleated skirt is an outfit that will look fresh and chic right into summer.
