Eyebrow know-how

My eyebrows are black and I'd like to dye them to match my lighter brown hair. Are there any special products for this?
Two-toned eyes
I have different colored eyes, one blue and the other green. Any eye makeup tips?

Don't be stumped by your two-toned eyes. You could easily wear pastel eyeshadow (one of this season's beauty trends). To make your eyes sparkle, experiment with contrasting and complementary colours such as yellow, lilac and pink, and steer clear of anything that matches your natural eye colours (greens and blues). Let your unique beauty shine through by wearing shimmering neutral shadows on your eyes. Try Physicians Formula Baked Collection Eye Shadows in Baked Sugar (cool shades) or Baked Butter (warm tones), $12 each. Whatever route you choose, frame your peepers by keeping your eyebrows well-groomed and coating your lashes with a few licks of mascara.

Dying your eyebrows
My eyebrows are black and I'd like to dye them to match my lighter brown hair. Are there any special products for this or do I just use a hair-colouring kit?

Please proceed with caution! Despite your best intentions, nothing good can come of you putting permanent dye or a bleaching product near your eyes. Besides ending up with a strange colour (there's no way to patch test your brows), you could also damage the hair (read: no eyebrows) or worse, injure your eyes with the chemicals. Lightening brows is best left to a professional, so talk to your hairdresser or esthetician.

Burned bangs
I was straightening my bangs and somehow burned them. Is there anything I can put in my hair to help?

Burned bangs? Thank goodness hair grows back! Once you've trimmed off the singed ends, keep your hair looking healthy with a leave-in conditioner while you wait patiently for it to grow in. A styling product specifically made to protect hair from heat damage is a good idea. Try L'Or̩al Professionnel Tecni.art Hot Style Iron Finish, 150 mL/$19. It contains ceramide, which protects inner hair fibers from high temperatures. To prevent further damage, consider putting your styling tool on vacation Рcutting down the use of the flatiron to every other day should help. If that sounds too drastic and your iron has multiple settings, try adjusting it to a lower one the next time. You may discover you don't need it cranked so high to get satisfactory results. Bye-bye breakouts
I am 38 and I still get pimples. I rarely eat junk food, so what am I doing wrong?

Wouldn't it be great if statements such as "only teenagers get zits" and "eating greasy foods will make you break out" were true? Then all we'd have to do is grow up and stop eating french fries and a flawless face would be ours. But those are both skin-care myths. The fact is, you have little or no control over some of the factors that affect breakouts, such as genetics, hormones and stress. Taking care of your skin can help prevent or minimize blemishes. Because you're 38, look for products that go beyond fighting acne and contain anti-aging benefits as well. To maintain a clear, youthful-looking complexion, try Yves Rocher Pro-Retinol 100% Vegetal Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Multi-Care Gel Cleanser, 150 mL/$17, or Day Treatment, 30 mL/$36.
