Cooking Club: Your next challenge is sweet corn!

Let’s celebrate this golden seasonal gift by cooking it up every which way. We’ve chosen eight of our favourite takes for this Chatelaine Cooking Club challenge, but feel free to put your own spin on your cobs if you choose. But wait, there’s more: Now the Chatelaine Cooking Club comes with prizing! The best corn recipe photo, as chosen by the Chatelaine Kitchen, will receive a $100 gift card to Starbucks and a bag of their new, proudly Canadian, True North Blend. (As if you even needed another reason to make delicious corn recipes.) Click through the gallery to get all the details on how to submit your photo and enter.

Cooking Club: Eight summer-favourite corn recipes

Summer corn pasta salad

When we think “summer” around the Chatelaine Kitchen, certainly we think about strawberries and cherries, blueberries and raspberries, peaches and plums… gaaaa, I’m getting hungry…but more than anything else we think of fresh-from-the-husk summertime sweet corn. Hot, crunchy, dripping, boiled or charred, slathered or chopped; we can literally eat half a dozen cobs at one sitting.

Click through the recipe gallery, pick a fave, cook it up and then click a pic before you crunch and munch.

We want to see what you’ve made! Before you shut off the stove or close the ‘Q, show us what you’ve got!

And check out the best reader photos from last weeks' very-berry galette challenge!

How to post

Once you have your photo, you can post it one of three ways (make sure you’re not on a private setting):

Follow us on Instagram, then post your photo using @ChatelaineKitchen

Follow us on Twitter, then tweet us your photo with the hashtag #ChatelaineKitchen

Like us on Facebook, then message us your photo

Email us your picture at chatelaine.kitchen@gmail.com

Get your photos posted by Thursday, August 15 at noon to be considered for the club’s gallery the following day, which will be featured with the next week’s recipe.

Quick photo tips: Don’t use a flash, natural light is best. Just place your plate near a window and shoot away. Don’t bother using props – they’ll detract from the featured food. Overhead is always nice, close-ups work well, and get in close so we can see what’s cookin’! The larger the photo, the better.
