Kitchen Musings : Happy Thanksgiving!

If you're like me, then one of your favourite things about the holidays is the FOOD. This is a time for indulgence - where we get to throw diets out the window (for a day or two at least!) and put on our most comfortable pair of (stretchy) pants in anticipation of the happy, drowsy, drunk-on-tryptophan post-Thanksgiving dinner feeling.

Having tested our Thanksgiving feature months in advance, it almost feels as though we had spent that time just practicing for the real deal.  This weekend, Claire's preparing a traditional turkey feast with our recipe for brined turkey; while on the other end of the spectrum, Lyn's kids are sick of turkey, so she's preparing our Big Night Lasagna and Mushroom-Pepper Crusted Rib Roast for her family.

Having my family overseas means that I'll be attending a pot-luck gathering with good friends, an annual event aptly known as "Friendsgiving".

So whether you'll be with family or friends, we all wish you a very enjoyable long weekend filled with fun and delicious food!
