Self Esteem
Some women seem to have self-esteem to spare; others--not so much! According to the Canadian
Mental Health Association, if you have good self-esteem, you have a healthy
view of yourself, a sense of self-worth and positive outlook. You also feel
generally satisfied with yourself and set realistic goals. When people have
low self-esteem they may feel shy, anxious or depressed. People with low self-esteem
are more likely to engage in unhealthy habits, such as smoking.
Self-esteem boosts
Let go of the ideal image When people try to be perfect it’s damaging
to self-esteem. Instead be positive about yourself but realistic about what
you can do.
Get physical Participating in sports may help women build self-esteem by enhancing
their positive image of their own bodies and skills.
Think positive Surround yourself with positive images of healthy women and positive
people. Look for role models whom you can admire for their accomplishments.
