Time to Shout with Elana Waldman
Elana Waldman was diagnosed with stage IIIc ovarian cancer on August 19, 2005 when she was just 32 years old. The doctors initially thought, because of her age, that the cancer was not that advanced. As it turned out, she had only a 30 percent chance of surviving five years. Her five-year anniversary is now being marked by her starting this video blog. In this "vlog", she will share with you her daily struggles as she lives with the "cancer that whispers". In turn, you can support her and her efforts to raise awareness about this disease, which is extremely difficult to detect, by joining the conversation. Since I can no longer work full time, I have chosen to spend my time on things I feel passionately about. One of those things is obviously fundraising for research into ovarian cancer, both for early detection and better treatment.
