A delicious and healthy onion rings recipe
  • Mon Apr 02 2012
  • Angela Liddon
Homemade baked onion rings I was in the kitchen trying to make my own onion rings; only these would be baked instead of fried and more of an “everyday” onion ring if you will. I experimented with a few different coatings and batter mixtures until I found a combo that I loved. ...more
The 60-second breakfast: Vegan overnight oats
  • Mon Mar 26 2012

Blueberries with oatmeal in cereal bowl Along with green monsters, vegan overnight oats are one of my favourite go-to breakfasts. Both smoothies and overnight oats are ready in a flash, leaving you extra time to hit the snooze button or to sneak in a bit of exercise. Even better, there is absolutely zero preparation (or clean up) in the morning (yes, it’s even quicker than standing in a lineup for a muffin)! ...more

dairy-free chocolate pudding What if I told you I had a way of making the most decadent and rich chocolate pudding you’ve ever tasted, while being free of dairy, soy, and all animal products? You’d probably think I was crazy, right? Well news flash, I am crazy, but that is beside the point. Today, we’re talking pudding…healthier chocolate pudding to be exact. ...more

green smoothie In January 2009, I felt a huge void in my life. I was unhappy with my career and often awake until 3 or 4 in the morning stressing about work. Not surprisingly, I dragged my butt all day long and my energy plummeted, especially during my working workouts. After months of carrying on like a zombie, I decided to do something about it. ...more
Healthy soup recipe: Dairy-free broccoli and 'cheese'
  • Mon Jan 16 2012

Dairy-free broccoli and “cheeze” soup Growing up, I was never a fan of cream of broccoli, chicken, or mushroom canned soups. I preferred soup that didn’t come out in a single lump and clear broths such as vegetable soup were more my style. ...more

Protein power goddess bowl Sometimes it’s hard to feel like a goddess during the cold winter months. Many of us are still recovering from the holidays, New Year’s hangovers, and the realization that we now have to function at work again. ...more

Back-on-track salad This recipe is inspired by the detox salad found in the Whole Foods salad bar. I loved it so much I decided to create my own version at home. To my delight, it turned out even tastier than the original — and also easier on the wallet. ...more
