So as I’ve written here before, I’ve got the Sporting Life 10K race coming up in May—a 10K race that I love to do. I get to run through a big chunk of my city Toronto when I do it, it’s generally a sunny Sunday morning and best of all, it’s all downhill.

If running and I have a stormy relationship, then walking and I are old friends. We go back to when I was in middle school and walked the 30 minutes daily to get to school and back.

Running and I have been on a break. See, we’ve been seeing each other for more than 10 years in a lukewarm, dependant, familiar relationship, one that’s marked by periods of heavy infatuation and later followed by an angry breakup and swearing I’d never run again.
