Cooking with Karma with Karma Brown

Karma Brown wishes she could say her specialty was beef bourguignon or homemade gnocchi with tomato sauce she canned herself, but instead she is famous (at least in her kitchen) for strawberry crisp and mac & cheese (although both her three-year-old and husband like the boxed version almost as much). She wants to experiment, to go beyond Taco Tuesdays, to master pastry, to cook the perfect roast and to make memorable meals for her family and she will learn to do all that using Chatelaine's recipes.

Creamy-spinach-and-artichoke-baked-pasta-0-l We have a few gluten-free friends and family members who often share our table, so I’ve been stockpiling recipes that can work for everyone. • Karma Brown
Slow_cooked_super_saucy_pot_roast-1-l Why I’ve never cooked a roast before I have no idea. It’s so easy, right? It must go back to my lack of confidence around cooking meat, because unlike (most) others, I think overcooked meat is a good thing. However, I had faith in my slow cooker so off I went to the butcher ...more

Roast-pork-loin-with-bacon-cider-gravy We never did the Sunday night roast thing when I was growing up. Far too traditional for my hippie parents, I think. So while I love the idea of creating a Sunday dinner tradition, I needed something with a little more personality than pot roast and this fit the bill ...more
